The usual first Sunday of the month tunes session is tonight (2nd Feb) at the Gun, Horsmonden, from 7.30pm.

Tunes workshops are scheduled for the 4th and the 18th from 8pm.

As usual at this time of year (we’ve been running for a decade now), we’ll be practising for the workshop barndance on the 28th March.

There’s an initial list of tunes for the barndance on the workshops page. Folks can join the workshops at any time and many make huge progress – but will need to have reached the stage where they can get round a few tunes.

Our visiting pal at the session at the Castle Inn, Brenchley on the 23rd February is the highly engaging Irish storyteller and singer Adrian O. He’s not a man you meet every day, so if you can, come by for a cracking evening.

Finally, The Tonic is playing for an English ceilidh at Hothfield Village Hall (Hothfield, near Ashford TN26 1EQ) from 8pm on the 18th January, with John Sweeney calling. For details click here. There’s even a dancing skills workshop beforehand from 7.30pm.
