Tunes session Horsmonden 2nd June, workshops 4th and 18th June

The first Sunday monthly tunes session at the Gun and Spitroast, Horsmonden takes place this weekend as usual, starting at 8pm. With Tracy or the bar folks’ permission, I think we should probably try to use the end room, if any of you arrive before we get there.

The next tunes workshop at the Gun is at 8pm on Tuesday 4th June (first Tuesday). The tunes are available on the workshops page and as usual there will be one more tune we’ll work on by ear. And yes – there will be a jig!

The final workshop for this season will be at 8pm on the 18th June. (And then I will have a rest, sort of!)

The Pig’s Ear Folk Ale is this weekend. It’s at the Kentish Horse at Mark Beech, and features our pal Jim Causley in the evening (unmissable if you haven’t heard him), Julie and Gav (at 5pm – supporters will get a big smile), and Bob Kenward at 3.40pm. A fair number of our pals will be singing, playing and running events, including  Di and John Cullen and Roger Resch.

We hope to see you soon!

Summer, the quiet time at Singdanceandplay.net

We’ve had another lovely season, with cracking sessions, workshops and dances, but as always, Singdanceandplay goes a little quiet for a while in the middle of the year…

This is the time when some of us go sailing, go to festivals and maybe get around to a few other folk clubs and other sessions…

The Sunday night mixed song and tune sessions at the Castle have ended for the time being. We’ll be back in September.

The workshops on the first and third Tuesday at the Gun and Spitroast, Horsmonden, go on into June, then close down and return in September.

The Pig’s Ear Folk Ale is on at Markbeech from Thursday 30th May – Sunday 2nd June 2019. See the website for details. Quite a few of our pals are involved, Julie and I will do a half hour, and they’ve got our mate Jim Causley playing the evening concert…
