Get ready for the Harvest Hop Barndance at the Bell & Jorrocks pub at 8pm on the 23rd November 2013, featuring our favourite dances, party games, raffle, and a great candle-lit atmosphere, with our good fried Chris Rose calling, music from theHorsmonden Traditional Music Class and friends, and Frittenden favourites Annie Dearman and Steve Harrison adding to the general jollity.
(Annie and Steve are also our featured guests at the Frittenden session on the evening of Sunday 24th).
Tickets are £7 and £4 (concs), with all funds raised going to help fund the Frittenden Old Fashioned Night Out day scheduled for the 6th April. Call Gavin on 07985 522734 to reserve your tickets now!
If you play English traditional music and would like to join the band for a few tunes, you’re very welcome.
The Frittenden sessions at the Bell & Jorrocks are proud to present our featured visitors The Stings on the 27th October.
A lively bunch of singers and musos with a particularly nice line in harmonies, Alan Marshall’s crunching guitar, Steve Taylor’s fiddle and melodeon, all laced with with Gerry Smith’s outstanding wind and reeds work, The Stings have a new CD coming out…
These cracking sessions take place on the last Sunday (usually) in the month from September to April, from 8pm. The Bell & Jorrocks (TN17 2EJ).
An entertaining old fashioned and traditional pub evening with songs and tunes, and plenty of variety and good humour. If you’ve got a song, a tune, a stepdance or story, enjoy joining in with a chorus or just like listening in the bar, please come along. We go on until it’s time to close with Nellie Dean the old way – just as people used to before the telly and the computer.
